The Robertville depot started operation in April 2013 and currently employs 6 staff members. Storage and distribution of pasta Polana, imported from Windhoek is stored and distributed to various outlets in South Africa from this facility. They trade as Prima Pasta & Biscuits. Their fleet consists of 3 vehicles
The pasta manufacturing process is completely automated, using only the most technologically advanced equipment available in the world and in the pasta manufacturing industry.
The Kliparani project was launched in 2010 and has a storage capacity of 67 000 tons of maize per season in silo bags. There are two separate premises for storage – the first can store up to 177 silo bags and the other can store up to 210 silo bags. Every bag can store between 175 – 180 ton maize, depending on the quality of the harvest.
Namib Mills developed a range of special products for bakeries, called “Complete Mix" to which the baker only has to add water. These products offer convenience to bakeries and enable them to increase bakery productivity.
We pack white, dry brown and wet brown sugar, which is distributed under the Sugar King brand.
Katima Mulilo operates as a milling facility as well as a depot and currently employs 18 staff members. The mill generates 2.5 tons of maize per hour and the depot delivers to Katima Mulilo. Their fleet consists of 5 vehicles/ trucks.
Otavi also mills 2 tons of Mahangu per hour.
Pasta Polana was launched in 2001 by the founding father of the Namibian nation, His Excellency Dr. Sam Nujoma. This plant is amongst the top three most modern plants in the Southern Hemisphere and was built by Pavan, an Italian based company, famous for building world class pasta plants.
At our Gordonia facility in Upington, Northern Cape, we have 6 concrete silos that have storage capacity of 1050-1100 tons per silo. There are also 2 sheds for additional storage at this facility. Local farmers bring their maize and wheat, where the same grading procedures as Kliparani are performed.
Otavi operates as a milling facility as well as a depot and currently employs 62 staff members in total. The mill generates 13.5 tons of maize per hour. They also have a sugar packing facility for white, brown and special golden brown sugar.
Milling of wheat flour only takes place in Windhoek at 12 tons per hour, assisting in sustaining national food security for the Namibian People.
